MURIQUI TRAIL SFX

On October 31, 2026, trail runners will converge on São Francisco Xavier, a district nestled within the rolling hills of São José dos Campos, São Paulo, for an unforgettable journey through the lush Mata Atlântica and Serra da Mantiqueira. This event celebrates the harmony between athletes, nature, and community by offering three distinct courses that wind through scenic trails and rural roads.
The 21 km trail run presents a challenging route with significant elevation gain of approximately 1000 meters, weaving through dense forests and along rocky paths. The 12 km option features around 500 meters of ascent, while the shorter 6 km course offers a more relaxed experience with minimal elevation change.
The race begins at Praça Cônego Antônio Manzi in São Francisco Xavier, where participants will gather for a brief orientation before setting out into the wilderness. The Parque Municipal de São Francisco Xavier serves as the hub of activity, providing essential support services and marking both the start and finish lines.
Runners can expect to encounter varied terrain including steep ascents and descents along with stretches of rugged trails and rural roads. Safety measures are in place throughout the course, ensuring a secure environment for all participants.
The event concludes at 13:00 PM local time, with awards presented shortly after as part of the celebratory atmosphere that permeates the day. Whether you're an experienced trail runner or new to the sport, this race offers an immersive experience in one of Brazil's most captivating natural settings.
Join us for a day where fitness meets adventure and every step taken contributes to preserving the beauty of Serra da Mantiqueira.
