NAAC Festival of Running 2026

North Ayrshire Athletics Club presents the NAAC 10k, an exciting race designed to attract runners of all ages and skill levels. The event is set for early November 2026 at St Matthews Academy on Jacks Road, offering a scenic route that showcases some of North Ayrshire's most picturesque landscapes.
The main attraction is the 10k run which starts promptly at 11am under Scottish Athletics League (SAL) regulations. Participants must pre-register by August 30th or when race capacity is reached to secure their spot, as on-the-day entries will not be accepted. The course features a flat and fast route that winds through scenic promenades along the coast, tarmac sections of an old railway track, and stretches of pavement. Runners can expect one small hill in the second half but otherwise enjoy mostly level terrain.
All competitors must be at least 15 years old on race day to participate. Timing is provided via a Race Chip, which runners should collect early from registration to ensure they arrive well before the start time. The course will feature ample marshals and clear signage throughout its entirety.
Prizes are awarded for first through third place in both male and female categories as well as special recognition for U20, V40, V50, V60, and V70 age groups. Every finisher receives a commemorative T-shirt and medal to celebrate their achievement.
In addition to the 10k race, there is also a 2km chip-timed fun run starting at 10:15am for children aged between 6 and 15 years old. This shorter event follows a very flat route around the athletics arena within St Matthews Academy grounds, incorporating sections of running track, gravel paths, and grassy areas.
For those looking to engage younger participants even further, there’s also a fun-filled 400m run planned for later in the day at 12:45pm. This casual event allows entry on race day itself and is designed specifically with young children in mind.
Registration details including location of toilets will be communicated ahead of time to all registered participants via email updates or through club announcements. Limited parking spaces are available within St Matthews Academy grounds, but runners are encouraged to make use of nearby Ardrossan South Beach Railway Station for a convenient 10-minute walk to the venue.
