Welcome to the Bay Trailrunners Napa Wilderness Trail Runs at Skyline Wilderness Park! Now in its sixth year, this beloved race offers runners of all levels an unforgettable trail running experience. Whether you're just starting out or ready for a challenge, there's something here for everyone. The event features four distances: a welcoming 10K ideal for newer runners looking to dip their toes into the world of trail racing; a moderate-level half marathon (21K) that’s perfect for building endurance and enjoying scenic views; an exhilarating 30K with steep ascents offering stunning vistas across Napa Valley; and, for those seeking a true test of grit, a challenging 50K ultra marathon. The course has been reengineered to include fresh trails through the picturesque Napa Open Space, adding even more beauty and adventure. The 10K is an approachable distance that showcases some of Skyline Wilderness Park’s most scenic terrain while still being manageable for beginners or those returning from a break in their running routine. The half marathon offers runners a chance to tackle moderate hills and enjoy the serene surroundings before reaching the finish line. For more experienced trail enthusiasts, the 30K presents an opportunity to conquer steep climbs on iconic trails like Rim Rock Trail, while the ultra marathon is designed for those who thrive on long-distance challenges with significant elevation gain. Registration remains open until May 15 at 5:00 PM (PDT), and race-day registration will be available up to 30 minutes before each start time. However, a $15 same-day processing fee applies if you register after the deadline. Save your spot early to avoid this additional cost. On race day, participants are encouraged to arrive at Skyline Wilderness Park’s South Gate overflow parking lot for free and convenient access. The park is located at 2201 Imola Ave., Napa, CA 94559. Spectators can enter through the main gate but will need to pay a $6 fee. The camping area within Skyline Wilderness Park offers various accommodation options ranging from RV sites to tent spaces with restrooms and showers available on-site. Enjoy additional activities like mountain biking, horseback riding, and disc golf before or after your race day experience. Course cutoffs are in place for each distance: 4 hours for the 10K, 6 hours for both the half marathon and 30K (with a mandatory completion of the 30K portion within 6 hours), and 10 hours for the ultra marathon. Please be aware that there is no transportation from aid stations back to the start/finish area. Crew access is limited to Lake Marie Aid Station, approximately a two-mile walk/hike from the starting line. Runners will pass through this station multiple times during longer distances but must carry their own drop bags and gear throughout the course due to logistical constraints. Be prepared for an authentic trail running experience with scenic routes that highlight Napa’s natural beauty. Each distance offers unique challenges, breathtaking views, and a chance to connect with fellow runners in one of California's most picturesque settings. Join us at Skyline Wilderness Park this year for another memorable edition of the Bay Trailrunners Napa Wilderness Trail Runs!
