NEARly There 5k

The park is located just off Main Street in downtown Crystal. As runners or walkers line up for their start, they will be greeted by the familiar sight of Bassett Creek flowing nearby. The NEARly There 5k has been running for several years now, raising both funds and awareness for its cause each July. In previous editions, thousands of runners have participated, enhancing Crystal’s local tradition in community service and support. The course venue follows the hard and dry surface of Bassett Creek Park, offering a smooth running experience for all participants. There are no special elevation changes or aid stations; however, with an average wind speed of just over nine miles per hour and minimal rainfall expected (3.7mm), athletes can focus entirely on their run.
