Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the New Forest as you lace up your running shoes for the Totton Running Club's annual New Forest Stinger. Scheduled for 2026, this scenic off-road race offers runners a unique opportunity to explore one of the few forest areas utilized specifically for trail events. The 10-mile route winds through lush trails and picturesque landscapes, providing participants with some of the best views in the region. As you navigate through diverse terrain, expect challenges that test your endurance while rewarding you with stunning natural scenery at every turn. The race is meticulously organized under UK Athletics rules on a Trail Running Association permit, ensuring both safety and fair competition. Upon arrival, runners can collect their numbers starting from 8am at Race HQ, where complimentary parking will be available to all participants. The event includes comprehensive medical cover, water stations strategically placed along the route for hydration, restrooms, and an array of goody bags filled with race essentials. In addition to these amenities, spot prizes await those who show exceptional performance throughout the day. To top off your experience, finishers will receive a specially designed medal crafted exclusively for this event. Trophies are awarded to the first three overall winners as well as age category champions in 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+. These accolades highlight not only individual achievements but also celebrate runners of all ages who participate with passion. Please note that under current conditions set forth by Forestry England, it is crucial for participants to adhere strictly to environmental guidelines. This includes avoiding public urination within the forest to preserve its beauty and ensure future race permits are maintained. While entry fees have seen a slight increase due to rising operational costs, these funds will be directed towards enhancing facilities at Race HQ and providing an unparalleled experience from start to finish. Dogs are not permitted on course alongside runners for safety reasons, but supporters can still join you in the access-friendly areas near both the starting line (1km away) and finishing area. No deferrals or refunds will be issued should circumstances necessitate race cancellation; however, any remaining funds would support Totton Running Club’s charity efforts. Join us at New Forest Stinger 2026 for an unforgettable day of running amidst nature's splendor!
