Nipmuck South Trail Race

A 50‑foot cliff, the Fenton River, and a brand new 5K with spicy hills. The Nipmuck South Trail Race returns to Mansfield Hollow State Park on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The 15‑miler follows the Nipmuck Trail out‑and‑back for about 15.7 miles, while the new‑for‑2026 5K stays entirely inside the park with no road crossings — just single‑track, technical Blue Trail, and a Yellow Trail detour that earns you that final sprint.

Race Day Logistics:

• Registration opens at 7:45 AM on race day (Sunday, June 14).
• Pre‑registration recommended. Race day registration available at higher price — cash only.
• Race shirts available as an add‑on. Orders must be placed before May 22.
• Final runners expected to finish by 2:00 PM.
• Start/finish at picnic area in Mansfield Hollow State Park (off Bassetts Bridge Rd). Parking close by — follow volunteer directions.
• GPS pin to park entrance provided on event page.

Roots & Impact:

• Organized by the Shenipsit Striders — a nonprofit trail running club founded in 1975 by a small group of friends in northcentral Connecticut. Club members range from new runners to experienced ultramarathoners.
• Proceeds benefit Connecticut trail stewardship organizations: Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Joshua’s Trust, and Northern Connecticut Land Trust.
• This race is part of the Blue Blazed Trail Running Series (BBTRS).
