The No Man’s 50K Challenge is an invigorating trail running adventure designed exclusively for women, offering a unique and empowering experience on the trails. This race was inspired by a simple observation from Katie Papadopoulos when she was just eight years old—she noticed that there weren’t enough female runners in her father's races and suggested creating one where girls could participate alongside their male counterparts.
The challenge takes place over two distances: 25K and 50K, making it an ideal event for both newcomers to ultra-marathons and seasoned trail runners. The race features a generous cut-off time of nine hours, providing ample opportunity for participants to enjoy the scenic route at their own pace. With only 100 solo slots available, this ensures that each runner will have a personal experience on the trails.
The course itself is meticulously crafted with two loops, each approximately 15 miles long, winding through single-track trails and forest service roads. The terrain offers a mix of challenging climbs and serene descents, covering about 70% single track, 30% forest road, and minimal paved sections for an authentic trail running experience.
A standout feature of the No Man’s Challenge is its well-stocked aid stations, strategically placed every five to seven miles. These stops provide runners with everything they need to fuel up and hydrate during their journey. The race directors, Katie and Zoe Papadopoulos, have created a supportive environment that encourages women from all backgrounds to come together in the spirit of camaraderie and shared passion for trail running.
