About the Event

Welcome to Vultures Knob for the prestigious NOMBS 2026 Series Finale, an exhilarating mountain biking event that promises an unforgettable experience. Camping is available starting Friday night at VK, and you can practice on the course early Saturday. This race will take place rain or shine.
Day of Registration:
While we highly recommend preregistration for a smoother event, same-day registration options are also open. Participants must pay an additional $10 after 6 pm on Saturday evening and should be prepared to register by at least one hour before their respective start time.
Race Day Schedule:
Registration and packet pickup commence at 9 am.
The Cat 3 Jr Novice U19-U13 & Kids category will hold its day-of registration from 9:30 am, closing just as the race starts at 10 am.
For all other categories, day-of registration closes by noon.
Afternoon events include a podium ceremony and riders' meeting starting at 12:40 pm for Cat 1 racers.
All remaining Cat 2 and Cat 3 categories will start shortly after this time, with specific wave numbers to ensure a safe race environment. Exact times are approximate due to the dynamic nature of racing conditions.
The day culminates in award ceremonies from 2:30 to 3 pm for all category winners.
Adaptive Racers:
We recognize that adaptive racers require special consideration and will work closely with you to determine your optimal start time, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
10 am Cat 3 Jr Novice Races:
Early morning starts are designed not only to ease the course pressure but also to offer families an opportunity to spectate and support their young riders. This setup ensures that novice junior racers have a more supportive atmosphere with increased cheering.
USA Cycling Licenses, NOMBS Series Championship Rules & Eligibility:
NOMBS is proud to host USA Cycling-sanctioned events in Ohio, including the official USA Cycling Ohio MTB Championship. Riders must hold current USA Cycling licenses and participate in this finale race to be eligible for the series championship. Points are accumulated from your best five races throughout the season, with tiebreakers determined by performance at the final event.
Race Age:
Your "race age" is based on your birthday as of December 31st, ensuring fair competition across all categories and seasons.
