North Peoria Turkey Trot

Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with the North Peoria Turkey Trot presented by Walk Forward Coaching at Paloma Park on November 26, 2026. This community-focused event offers runners and walkers two distances to choose from: a timed 5K run/walk starting at 8:30 am followed closely by an untimed one-mile fun run beginning at 8:35 am.
Participants can register for the race at various stages leading up to November 26th. Early registration, available between August 27 and November 1, costs $15 per person and guarantees a t-shirt upon pickup or delivery of your choice. Between November 2 and November 25, the fee increases slightly to $20, while last-minute registrants on race day will pay $30.
Packet pick-up is available at Paloma Park from 4 pm to 7 pm on November 25th for those who have already registered online or in person. On the morning of the event itself, packet pickup will be held between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.
The race courses are designed with scenic trails around Paloma Park in mind. The 5K route features an out-and-back section on a gravel path that winds through picturesque landscapes. Both races start and finish at the same location, allowing participants to enjoy the festive atmosphere throughout the day.
Awards will be given for top male and female runners in each age group (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, and 90 & over) for the timed 5K race. Medals will be awarded to first-, second-, and third-place winners in each division.
This year's event also features a unique community service initiative: local churches are collaborating with participants to support teens by collecting new underwear for youth aged 12-18, ensuring that all young people have the basic necessities they need. Swag bags will include information on how you can contribute during packet pick-up and race day.
