Explore the world of fixed gear cycling at the Northeast Velodrome Track Clinic. Designed for beginners, this clinic equips you with essential skills and knowledge needed to navigate and race on a velodrome effectively.
During the session, you'll master key techniques such as riding without brakes, controlling speed through pedaling, and maintaining smooth, predictable movements around the track. Learn about track layout and lane terms, mastering banking and line-holding essentials for safe and efficient racing. Group riding fundamentals like paceline dynamics—rotating, pulling, and rejoining—will be covered to enhance your teamwork skills.
Join us in understanding the nuances of track race concepts and rules, setting a solid foundation for future competitions. All you need is a track-ready bike; pedal and cycling shoes are required if renting from us. A helmet is mandatory for safety during the clinic.
Space is limited to eight riders, ensuring personalized attention. The cost is $30 per participant, with rental bikes available at an additional fee. Please provide your frame size and saddle height in advance (measured from center of bottom bracket to top of saddle) if renting a bike; this information will help us set up your equipment properly.
Upon successful completion, you'll be certified for participation in other Northeast Velodrome sessions and events, opening the door to more exciting opportunities.
