NSCCL round 3 - Parkhall Country Park

The North Staffs Cross Country League (NSCCL) offers runners of all ages and abilities the chance to compete on traditional cross country courses spanning North Staffordshire and South Cheshire. This league comprises four races, each held at scenic locations that challenge both body and spirit.
For senior competitors aged 17 years or older, Parkhall hosts a significant event in this series where men cover an 8-kilometer route while women tackle a more compact but equally demanding five kilometers. These distances are designed to test endurance and tactical skills as runners navigate varied terrain across the park's winding paths and open fields.
The league is structured into team competitions with divisions based on age groups, including Junior categories for younger participants aged nine through sixteen years old. Teams consist of specified numbers of male and female members who contribute their individual race results toward overall standings. For instance, teams in Senior Division 1 are composed of six men and four women, whereas Vets (Over-35s) see both genders contributing up to six points each.
Scores from all races count towards team rankings for seniors but only the best three out of four races contribute to individual scores for those under seventeen. This format encourages consistent performance throughout the season while giving young athletes a chance to shine without pressure from every race day.
Guest runners are welcome, allowing individuals not affiliated with any club to participate in these events and compete solely on an individual basis. Race days feature a mix of challenging climbs, technical sections, and flat stretches that cater to different running styles, ensuring there's something for everyone who loves cross country racing.
