The Oatmeal Community Center Race invites you to explore the picturesque countryside of Bertram, Texas with its 13.3-mile loop that starts right at your registration point. This thrilling course takes racers north on FM 243 before turning onto CR 321 and then onto FM 1174 for a complete circuit. The final lap sees participants sprinting uphill just south of the community center, adding an exhilarating finish. Race organizers are committed to ensuring that all competitors have a seamless experience. Online registration is open until September 17th at 6 pm, with late fees applying after September 16th at 5 pm. Junior racers under 19 can register at discounted rates but must be aware of potential price increases and late fees. USA Cycling licenses are strictly verified; your license must match the category you wish to enter. It is crucial to resolve any issues before race day, as USAC offices will not assist with last-minute changes. Volunteers play a vital role in hosting this event, and they will receive complimentary entries for their efforts. Opportunities include course marshals, lead/follow drivers, and more. The 13.3-mile route can be explored through Strava links: one-lap (https://www.strava.com/routes/3370111538985559256), two-laps (https://www.strava.com/routes/3370110967302608028), three-laps (https://www.strava.com/routes/3370111853734974600), four-laps (https://www.strava.com/routes/3370112295317108892), five-laps (https://www.strava.com/routes/3494449728492462682), and seven-laps (https://www.strava.com/routes/3494452314498049264). A feed zone will be set up on FM 243 near the finish line, offering refreshments only from the right side. Race officials will communicate which laps are open for feeding; racers must adhere to these instructions or face disqualification. Littering is strictly prohibited. Only designated areas in the feed zone and proper receptacles may be used for discarding items. Violations can result in disqualification and fines. Number pick-up and registration close 30 minutes before each race start, so plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early. The registration desk will open at 6 am at the Community Center. For directions and parking, follow signs from Highway 29 onto FM 243 toward Oatmeal. Parking information is provided by the Volunteer Fire Department; be considerate of local residents' driveways and private property to avoid disqualification and fines. Restrooms and changing facilities are located at the south entrance of the parking lot. Public urination or uncovered changing will result in disqualification from the race, along with potential city fines. Join us for an unforgettable racing experience in Bertram's beautiful countryside!
