Stanza Stones Winter Edition

A 24 hour, 50 mile linear route with over 6600 ft of ascent, starting at Marsden, West Yorkshire and finishing in Ilkley. You will visit the 6 Stanza Stones along the route as well as crossing spectacular moorland of the South Pennines. The historical village of Haworth, home of the Bronte Sisters, is also visited along the route before you climb over Ilkley Moor towards the end. Don't forget your hat! The Stanza Stones are 6 Stones with a poem, written by Simon Armitage, inscribed into them. They are all connected to the theme of water which has a major influence to life on the moors. Each stone has a separate name and the poem on each rock reflects the name. The 6 names are Snow; Rain; Mist; Dew; Puddle and Beck Please note that the minimum age to enter is 20 years.
