Mark your calendar for August 15 and 16, 2026, as the Mountain Run Company invites you to experience one of the most exhilarating trail running events in North America. Registration opens on January 23rd with early bird discounts available during the first two weeks. The event features four challenging distances: a grueling 100K, a demanding 50K and its ruck counterpart, an intense 25K including a new rucking division, and a scenic 10K. Each race offers unique challenges and breathtaking views of Olympic National Forest in Washington State. The OM 100K is the ultimate test for seasoned ultrarunners, covering over 63 miles with more than 14,200 feet of elevation gain on approximately 80% single-track trail. Runners will traverse alongside Gold Creek and Dungeness River before reaching the Buckhorn Wilderness boundary via Dirty Face Ridge, where panoramic views await from a high point at 5,820 feet. The OM 50K is no less challenging, featuring an impressive 74% single-track trail with over 8,600 feet of climbing. Starting deep in the Olympic National Forest and culminating near Mount Townsend's summit within Buckhorn Wilderness, this course offers stunning vistas throughout its grueling ascent. For those seeking a shorter but equally demanding experience, there’s the OM 25K which includes an arduous climb to the peak of Mount Zion over 3.7 miles. This single-loop route challenges both your climbing and running legs with nearly 4,000 feet of elevation gain in just under half marathon distance. New for this year is a dedicated 10K, providing a taste of the larger races' terrain on approximately 6.56 miles that includes one aid station at mile 4.96. This course features over 1,100 feet of climbing and offers runners an opportunity to experience some of the trails leading up to the full marathon distances. Registration fees vary based on distance and timing; discounts are available for tribal members and active duty or veteran military personnel upon request via email at MountainRunCompany@Gmail.com. Early registration is highly recommended as prices increase closer to race day, with no refunds but generous credits towards future events if you need to withdraw before certain deadlines. Volunteers play a crucial role in making the event possible; sign up now through their volunteer portal for an unforgettable experience both on and off the trail. Aid stations are strategically placed along each course route, providing essential hydration and nutrition. Drop bags can be left at designated points allowing runners to focus solely on pushing forward without carrying unnecessary weight throughout the race. Prepare yourself for a weekend filled with stunning scenery, challenging terrain, and an atmosphere that celebrates perseverance and camaraderie among trail running enthusiasts from around the globe.
