Nestled within the picturesque landscape of Styria’s Apple Country, the OMNi-BiOTiC® Apfelland Triathlon offers triathletes from Austria and around the world an unforgettable experience. The race weekend transforms Lake Stubenberg into a vibrant hub where athletes can challenge themselves across various distances while enjoying the region's stunning natural beauty. The event spans three days starting May 21 to May 23, 2027, with options for all levels of triathletes. Participants can choose from the 25K Sprint Distance, the 50K Olympic Distance, and the grueling yet rewarding 100K Middle Distance. The centerpiece event is the 100K Middle Distance, which tests competitors over a total distance of 100 kilometers. This race begins with a refreshing swim in Lake Stubenberg’s clear waters for two kilometers before transitioning to an 80-kilometer bike course that winds through Eastern Styria's rolling hills and varied terrain. Two laps on the challenging route include steep climbs followed by fast sections, leading into a final stretch of cycling towards the lake. The race concludes with an 18-kilometer run around Lake Stubenberg, offering ideal conditions for a swift finish due to its flat course. For those seeking a more compact yet still demanding challenge, the 50K Olympic Distance is perfect. This event includes 1.5 kilometers of swimming in the lake, followed by a scenic bike ride covering 38.5 kilometers through the diverse landscapes surrounding Lake Stubenberg. The race concludes with a 10-kilometer run along the lake's flat shoreline. The 25K Sprint Distance is designed for newcomers and seasoned athletes alike who enjoy short but intense races. This event features a half-mile swim in Lake Stubenberg, followed by an invigorating 19.5 kilometers of cycling through Styria’s apple orchards before concluding with a 4.75-kilometer run around the lake. In addition to these main events, the Kids Aquathlon provides young athletes aged eight and under their first taste of competitive racing in a fun and supportive environment. After swimming in Lake Stubenberg, children complete an age-appropriate running course that culminates at the finish line shared with adult competitors. Throughout each day, enthusiastic spectators create an energetic atmosphere along the race routes, cheering on participants as they push through various terrains and distances. The OMNi-BiOTiC® Apfelland Triathlon not only celebrates athletic achievement but also fosters a welcoming environment that encourages family participation and enjoyment of this unique sporting experience. The event’s setting amidst apple orchards and scenic natural landscapes ensures an unforgettable backdrop for all participants, making the OMNi-BiOTiC® Apfelland Triathlon a must-attend race weekend for triathletes across different skill levels.
