About the Event

Castricum's Atletiek Vereniging is set to host the Oosterbaan Strand- & Duinlopen and Parnassia Groep Run this winter, offering runners of all ages an opportunity to explore the stunning Noord-Hollands Duinreservaat. The event features a variety of distances ranging from 1 km routes designed for young participants to longer runs including a challenging 15 km course that extends along the beach.
The race starts and finishes at AV Castricum's athletics track on Zeeweg in Castricum, where parking is not available directly but can be found approximately 400 meters away near PWN visitors' center De Hoep. Pre-registration for participants is open until November 27, 2026, after which late registration will still be possible at a higher fee via inschrijven.nl up to the day of the event.
Runners can enjoy scenic routes through lush dunes and along sandy beaches as they navigate various distances including a family-friendly 1 km option for young children. For more experienced runners, there are longer options such as the 4 km, 10.1 km, and 15 km runs that wind through picturesque coastal paths.
Participants in select categories will receive awards, with medals presented to top finishers within their age groups at shorter distances like the 2.2 km and 4 km races. Additionally, runners completing longer courses can look forward to receiving a prize of natural value from Oosterbaan Alkmaar for placing among the fastest adult competitors.
The event is designed primarily as an enjoyable recreational activity rather than a competitive race, making it suitable for all levels of fitness and running experience. Runners are encouraged to check AV Castricum's website beforehand to ensure that their chosen route matches both their skill level and necessary equipment requirements.
