About the Event

The Oude Maas Cross and Club Championships, organized by C.A.V. Energie, will take place along the Achterzeedijk in Barendrecht, near the trimbaan and Thermen Barendrecht on November 28, 2026.
This trail/cross event welcomes runners of all categories for a day filled with competitive spirit and scenic routes. The morning kicks off at 11:00 AM when participants aged U8 to U12 take the starting line for their 1000-meter race. At 11:20 AM, athletes from ages U13 to U20 start their 2000-meter run.
The main event begins at noon with a challenging 4500 meters and an extended 9000 meters designed specifically for runners aged 16 years and older. The race routes feature varied terrain that includes trails, offering both technical challenges and breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
For C.A.V. Energie members competing in this event, first-place finishers across each age category (U15 to U20) are crowned Club Champions Cross for Men/Women. Additionally, overall prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners based on their performance in the longer distances.
Participants may compete using trail shoes or spikes with short points if they so choose. The organizers kindly request that all participants help maintain the beauty of the course by not littering along the route.
Registration for this event is free and open until November 25, 2026. No late registrations will be accepted on race day or afterward. Each runner may sign up for only one distance category.
For more information about the Oude Maas Cross and Club Championships, interested parties can contact the competition secretariat at wedstrijdsecretariaat@cavenergie.nl.
The event promises a blend of competitive racing and community spirit, making it an unmissable opportunity for runners looking to challenge themselves in scenic surroundings.
