Nestled within the Angeles National Forest, just minutes from Palmdale and Santa Clarita, lies the breathtaking Pacifico Mountain. This springtime adventure offers runners two challenging routes: a 50k trail race and a half-marathon, both designed to take you deep into the rugged San Gabriel Mountains. The event takes place on May 29, 2027, inviting participants to explore scenic trails that weave through pine forests, sandy boulders, and panoramic vistas of the Mojave Desert. The Pacifico Mountain Road and Silver Moccasin Trail provide a mix of technical singletrack, mountainside truck paths, and idyllic paved roads, ensuring an engaging experience for runners at every turn. For those choosing the 50k route, prepare to tackle over 31 miles with nearly 5,300 feet of elevation gain. The half-marathon course covers a more manageable but still challenging 13.1 miles and climbs around 2,300 vertical feet. Both courses feature nine expertly placed aid stations along the way, ensuring runners are well-supported throughout their journey. Race day festivities begin early with parking lot access at 5:00 AM and race start times of 7:30 AM for the 50k and 8:00 AM for the half-marathon. The event concludes around 1 PM when awards ceremonies honor top finishers, age group winners, and non-binary podium athletes with unique collectable medals. In addition to stunning scenery and technical terrain, runners can look forward to free race photography, a fully-stocked festival area complete with tacos (including vegan options), massage services from VFE Sports Massage, and hot coffee and iced beverages. All finishers will receive locally crafted Trail Half or Ultra medals as a token of their achievement. The Pacifico Ultra also offers exciting opportunities for competitive runners: the top four men and women who compete in the previous year’s race earn Sterling Silver Tickets to the prestigious Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run, contingent upon completing eight hours of trail work. Winners of both races will have a chance to qualify for additional events such as the Bulldog Ultra or Mar a Mar stage race across Baja California. Registration is now open for this unforgettable adventure in one of Southern California's most stunning natural settings. Join us on May 29, 2027, and experience firsthand why Pacifico Mountain has become a must-run destination for trail runners seeking an epic challenge amidst breathtaking landscapes.
