About the Event

Experience the spooktacular thrill of this year’s Paranormal, set for 2026. This classic Halloween-themed mountain bike race challenges racers to navigate an exhilarating singletrack loop under the moonlight and stars.
Starting at 4pm sharp, competitors have a total of six hours to rack up as many laps as possible on our scenic 8+ mile route. For team or duo categories, one rider will take turns on course while teammates strategize lap distribution. The race is open for solo riders and teams alike; you can start new laps anytime before the cutoff at 10pm.
Dress in your best Halloween costume to gain an early advantage—costumed racers get a head start over their competitors. While the first few hours will be under daylight, once the sun sets, lights are mandatory for all participants. Bicycles and riders must have adequate lighting.
Free camping is available on-site, providing a cozy base camp before you hit the trails. Food and beverages can be purchased during the race from local vendors including Rockfish Brewing Company, offering free beer to those 21 or older. A food truck will also join us for additional treats.
This unique event wouldn't be possible without the support of our hosts—the Tevendale family, who generously open their private land in Earlysville for this thrilling night ride. All participants must sign a liability waiver at registration and are encouraged to respect the property during the race.
Support from Charlottesville Racing Club, Blue Ridge Cyclery, and Rockfish Brewing Company ensures that Paranormal remains a memorable event. Join us on October 29th for an unforgettable night of racing under the stars!
