Scheduled for Sunday, May 9th, 2027, the Patnitop Marathon features races ranging from a challenging 100km Ultra Marathon to more accessible options like the Half Marathon at 21.1 kilometers and shorter runs of 10km and 5km. The event caters to runners of all ages and skill levels, with separate categories for participants aged ten or older. The race day starts early in the morning as competitors gather on a plateau overlooking the serene Chenab basin and the majestic Pir Panjal range beyond. For those tackling longer distances such as the 100km Ultra Marathon, which begins at midnight, the event offers stunning night-time views under starlit skies. Throughout the course, runners will enjoy panoramic vistas and fresh mountain air. Participants in the ultra marathon events are required to carry essential gear for their safety, including a hydration vest or backpack with a minimum capacity of 1.5 liters, fully charged mobile phones equipped with navigation apps, headlamps/torches along with spare batteries, whistles for emergency signaling, waterproof/windproof jackets and an emergency survival blanket. Additionally, a medical team equipped with ambulances is on standby for immediate assistance in case of emergencies.
