Experience the thrill of real road racing at Patterson Pass, nestled west of Highway 580 and southwest of Tracy, California. This iconic race is set for Sunday, August 2, 2026, marking its 40th edition as part of the prestigious 2026 California Cup series. The picturesque course loops through the challenging terrain of Patterson Pass Road, offering a unique blend of uphills and downhills. Runners will start at the registration point on Midway Rd, then head west along Flynn before turning north onto Carroll (after crossing Altamont Pass Road), continuing eastward on Grant Line and south back to the finish line area on Midway. The 23-mile loop is known for its steep ascents in the first half, followed by rolling terrain towards the end. This race caters to a wide range of participants with multiple categories: - Category 1/2/Pro: A grueling four-lap journey covering 92 miles. - Category 3 and Women's races offer shorter distances over three laps for 69 miles. - Masters divisions from 35+ and above, including specific groups for those aged 50+, 60+, and even a novice category. - Special women’s events with both long and short distance options. Registration opens at 6:30 AM on race day. Participants can sign up online through Bikereg.com until July 29th or by mail before the deadline, ensuring your spot in one of these exciting races. Entry fees range from $50 to $300 based on category and gender with limited spaces available. The event promises a memorable experience with merchandise prizes, tee shirts, and cash awards (at least 25% in cash). Champions will enjoy special discounts, but must adhere to the entry deadline for full refunds. A feed zone is strategically placed two miles west of registration, providing support vehicles while ensuring safety on steep descents. On race day, bring your USAC license or one-day permit if needed, and don't forget a spare tube and pump as follow-up vehicles might not be available. Keep an eye out for centerline rules at CHP-controlled stop signs; detailed instructions will be provided during the pre-race briefing.
