Peak Raid 2026 invites you to conquer the rugged terrain of the Peak District with four exhilarating three-hour races. Each race offers a unique challenge across diverse landscapes, from steep moorlands demanding precise navigation skills to more runnable limestone dales featuring well-marked footpaths. The series kicks off on September 20th in Hayfield and concludes on December 6th near Alstonefield, with stops at Edale and the Eastern Moors South along the way. Each event incorporates a score-based format where participants can choose their own routes based on ability, weather conditions, and personal preference. Whether you're tackling these hills solo or as part of a pair, your goal is to accumulate as many points as possible within the three-hour time frame by visiting various control points scattered throughout the race area. The challenge lies in selecting an optimal route that balances distance with point value while adhering to strict navigation and safety guidelines. On registration day, participants must arrive at least 30 minutes before their assigned start times between 8 am and 10 am for kit checks. Competitors are required to carry the FRA's Mandatory Minimum Kit including waterproof clothing, a map of the route (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food, and survival bag. The scoring system rewards strategic thinking as you navigate through each unique course. With over fifteen categories available—ranging from solo runners to mixed pairs based on age—you have ample opportunity to showcase your skills against peers across multiple events. Prizes are awarded in the form of medals or certificates for top finishers in eligible categories, provided they complete a minimum of two races. While dogs are not permitted due to landowner restrictions and safety concerns, this event is open to all runners eager to explore some of England's most breathtaking landscapes under challenging but fair conditions.
