Peak Raid 2026 invites runners to explore some of England's most stunning landscapes across four exhilarating races. This series challenges participants with diverse terrains that range from rugged high moorland requiring precise navigation skills, to more runnable limestone dales with extensive footpath networks. Each race offers a unique challenge and experience: - Race 1: Sunday, September 20th in Hayfield - Race 2: Sunday, October 18th in Edale - Race 3: Sunday, November 15th on the Eastern Moors South - Race 4: Sunday, December 6th near Alstonefield Participants can choose their own routes and challenge themselves according to their ability. The races are scored based on points collected from various checkpoints within a three-hour window. This format allows runners to strategize and adapt to changing weather conditions or terrain difficulties. For those who prefer team efforts, pairs of runners (or joggers) are also welcome in all categories. Age classifications for both solo and pair entries will be determined by the age of the oldest participant as of December 31st, 2026. Race days begin with registration opening at 7:30 am, followed by staggered start times between 8 am and 10 am in five-minute intervals. It's recommended to arrive early for a smooth check-in process. Safety is paramount; all competitors must carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit which includes waterproof clothing (jacket with integrated hood and trousers), hat, gloves, map of the route provided by organizers, compass, whistle, emergency food, and an additional survival bag. These items will be inspected at registration to ensure compliance. Upon starting, runners receive a waterproof map detailing control points along with their respective point values. The goal is to visit as many checkpoints as possible within three hours while minimizing time penalties for late arrivals. The series concludes by awarding prizes in 15 categories based on solo or mixed pairs and age classifications. To be eligible for awards, runners must complete a minimum of two races.
