Peak Raid 2026 invites runners to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the Peak District through four thrilling races spread across autumn and early winter. This series offers an unparalleled challenge for fell running enthusiasts, featuring terrain that ranges from challenging high moorland requiring precise navigation skills to more runnable limestone dales with extensive footpath networks. Each race is a 3-hour adventure where participants can design their own route based on personal ability, weather conditions, and strategic preferences. The competition unfolds over four weekends: September 20th in Hayfield, October 18th near Edale, November 15th at Eastern Moors South, and December 6th around Alstonefield. Registration opens early for each event from 7:30 am, with start times ranging between 8 and 10 am. Competitors are advised to arrive well before their scheduled start time to ensure a smooth registration process. Participants must adhere strictly to the Fell Runners Association (FRA) mandatory kit requirements, which include waterproof clothing, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag for safety measures. Kit checks will be conducted at each event site. The race format is score-based, encouraging runners or pairs of participants to strategically choose their routes with the goal of accumulating as many points as possible within the time limit. With ten solo categories and five mixed pair categories, there's an opportunity for all levels of experience and ability to compete effectively. Age classifications are based on competitors' ages by December 31st, 2026. Awards will be given out in each category with a minimum requirement of completing two races throughout the series. Prizes include top spots in both solo and pair categories, provided there is sufficient participation within each division to warrant multiple placements. While dogs are not permitted due to landowner restrictions and wildlife considerations, Peak Raid 2026 promises an engaging experience for all participants who love a challenge on varied terrain.
