Welcome to the Live Borders Triathlon Series 2026, featuring the "Come and Tri" event on September 19th at Peebles Swimming Pool. This triathlon is designed for all levels of athletes, offering a balanced challenge with its pool-based swim, bike ride, and run. The swim segment takes place in the serene waters of Peebles Swimming Pool, where participants will take off in waves based on their estimated times to ensure smooth transitions from one discipline to another. The transition area is conveniently located under a bridge near the River Tweed, providing easy access for athletes as they prepare to tackle the bike and run portions. The cycling route winds along the B7062 towards Howford Farm before making its way back, offering scenic views of Kalzie Gardens and Traquair House—the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. This picturesque setting provides a beautiful backdrop as cyclists pedal through historic landscapes rich with natural beauty. After transitioning to running gear, athletes will follow the River Tweed's banks for 2.5 kilometers, looping around iconic Three Bridges before crossing at Priorsford and Fotheringham bridges. The run route highlights the river’s renown for salmon fishing, providing a tranquil environment as participants enjoy the serene waterside scenery. Peebles Triathlon events have seen significant growth over recent years, with combined attendance of 410 people across Sprint, Come & Tri, and Junior categories last year alone. As this event marks the conclusion of our annual series, there's an especially festive atmosphere that welcomes both seasoned competitors and newcomers alike. The Peebles area is also home to numerous attractions beyond the race course—such as Glentress mountain biking hotspot, 'Go Ape' high rope climbing facility, Dawyck Botanic Gardens, and The Cross Kirk—a friary dating back to the late 13th century. These sites offer additional opportunities for exploration by visitors. Participants are advised that limited parking is available behind Peebles Swimming Pool in a public car park; alternatively, Kings Meadow Car Park on Kings Meadow Road offers ample space just past the pool over the bridge on the right. Join us at this year's "Come and Tri" event to experience the charm of Scotland’s Borders region while pushing your personal limits.
