Peebles Sprint Triathlon

Welcome to the Live Borders Triathlon Series 2026, culminating in Peebles on September 20th. This sprint triathlon offers athletes an unforgettable experience with its picturesque setting and challenging course.
The swim leg begins at the centrally located Peebles Swimming Pool, where competitors will complete a pool-based swim of 750 meters (30 lengths). Swimmers are organized into waves based on their estimated times to ensure smooth transitions. The transition area is set up in the car park adjacent to the pool for easy access.
The bike route takes athletes along scenic country roads through historic Borders countryside, following B7062 towards Howford Farm and back. This 20-kilometer ride passes by Kalzie Gardens and Traquair House, one of Scotland's oldest inhabited houses. The cycling course is designed to showcase the beauty of the region while providing a manageable distance for all levels.
The run leg follows the banks of the River Tweed, renowned for its salmon fishing, with runners looping twice around "Three Bridges" before heading out on a circular route that crosses Priorsford and Fotheringham bridges. The 5-kilometer course is flat and fast, offering stunning views along the way.
Peebles marks the end of Live Borders' annual triathlon series, bringing together nearly 410 participants across sprint, come & try, and junior events last year. This event caters to both seasoned competitors and newcomers looking for a taste of multisport racing in a supportive environment.
The Peebles area is rich with attractions beyond the race course. Nearby Glentress Forest offers mountain biking trails, while 'Go Ape' provides high ropes climbing adventures. Dawyck Botanic Gardens offer tranquility amid nature, and The Cross Kirk stands as an ancient friary dating back to the late 13th century.
For those attending, limited parking is available in a public car park behind the swimming pool or at Kings Meadow Car Park on Kings Meadow Road, just past the bridge.
