About the Event
Welcome to the 2026 Pescadero Coastal Classic Road Race, an exhilarating cycling event that promises a memorable experience for all participants. Nestled along California's scenic coastline, this race offers a challenging yet rewarding journey through picturesque landscapes and rugged terrain. The race course stretches across 28 miles of coastal dunes and redwood groves, winding its way between Stage Rd, Hwy 84, and Pescadero Rd. The event kicks off with a motorized neutral zone from the starting point at Pescadero High School (350 Butano Cut-Off, Pescadero CA 94060) until the right turn onto Stage Rd, ensuring safe start conditions for all riders. A key highlight of this race is its hilly nature, offering both thrilling climbs and steep descents. The neutral feed zone will be strategically placed after the right turn from Hwy 84 to provide essential support during the race. Riders should prepare themselves for the final lap as it leads up Haskins Hill on Pescadero Creek Road before crossing the finish line. For those seeking a competitive edge, this year's event serves as the NCNCA District Championship for M P12, W P123 categories and all masters and U23 riders. Top performers in each category will be awarded cash prizes and merchandise, with podiums presented at the registration area after the race. Registration opens on July 8th at 7:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST), closing just before the start of each race. Online registration is available until Wednesday, July 8th, 11:59 PM PST. Race day registration will incur an additional fee of $15 USAC and $3 NCNCA insurance surcharges. The Alto Velo Racing Team looks forward to welcoming cyclists from all skill levels—from seasoned racers to those looking for a challenging adventure. This event is also the NCNCA District Championship, requiring participants to hold an annual license and reside in the district to be eligible for titles like U23 or Masters District Champion. Riders born on or after January 1st, 2003, are eligible for the U23 District Championship. Safety and respect are paramount during this event. USAC licenses are required, with one-day licenses available online for $15 (Novice category only). Participants must adhere to local traffic rules while warming up and avoid parking at the finish line or along Stage Rd. Spectators should refrain from driving directly to the finish line; instead, use highways 84 and 1 in the opposite direction of the race.
