Peter Oestmann Marathon am 09.04.2027 (60. Geburtstag) (Teichwiesen # 21xx)

On April 9, 2027, the Fun & Erlebnis Marathons organization invites runners to join the Peter Oestmann Marathon. This special occasion marks the 60th birthday of renowned German legal historian and marathon runner Peter Oestmann. The event is not a competitive race but rather an opportunity for participants to complete a proper marathon in accordance with the rules set by the 100 Marathon Club Deutschland.
The course winds through the picturesque Volksdorfer Teichwiesen, a nature reserve near Hamburg, offering runners stunning views of tranquil lakes and lush greenery. The route is designed as a loop, each lap measuring exactly 2.583 kilometers in length. Participants can choose from several distance options:
- A quarter marathon covering an initial segment followed by four full loops for a total distance of 11.1 km.
- Half-marathon participants will complete the starting section plus eight full laps totaling 21.5 km.
- The full marathon involves running through the entire course, including sixteen full loops to reach the official marathon distance.
For those looking to push their limits further, an ultra-marathon option is available for runners aiming to cover a total of 50 kilometers (including the additional three loops).
The event starts at 11:00 AM from Großer Teich on Auf dem Pfahlt street. Participants should plan their journey via Saseler Weg and arrive early to explore the scenic surroundings before the race begins.
Registration for this unique marathon closes on April 7, 2027, by midnight. All participants who register by Sunday, April 4th at 11:59 PM will receive a commemorative medal courtesy of Peter Oestmann himself.
Refreshments such as water, lemon or apple tea, cola, cookies, wine gums, and salt sticks are provided along the route to keep runners energized throughout their journey.
While there is no strict time limit for completing any distance, it's important to note that changing facilities, toilets, and showers will not be available at the race site.
