Peterhead Athletics Club 3K / Junior Mile Series #4

Peterhead Athletics Club invites runners of all ages and abilities to participate in the annual Peterhead 3K & Junior Mile Series, taking place on six Saturdays from April through September at the picturesque Lido in Peterhead. This Scottish seaside town offers a scenic backdrop for these races, which cater not only to seasoned athletes but also to young talent.
The series features two distinct race categories: an adult-friendly 3K event and junior mile runs tailored specifically for under-16s and under-12s participants. The Junior Mile events kick off at 10 a.m., followed by the more challenging 3K run starting promptly at 11 a.m.
Each runner will receive their race number upon registration, which must be collected on-site from the small car park near Peterhead Marina Bay's caravan site office building before each event. To ensure consistency across all races in the series, participants are required to keep and use the same number for every competition they enter throughout the season.
Registration fees vary based on age group: £2 per race plus a 50p administration fee applies to adult competitors (3K), while juniors pay just £1 per race with an additional 50p admin charge. Pre-registration is mandatory, and no entries will be accepted at the event venue itself.
The series culminates in awards for top performers across multiple categories, recognizing three of their fastest accumulated times from throughout the season. This creates a friendly competitive environment where runners can track progress over time while enjoying the camaraderie among participants.
