The journey begins at Avenham Park, nestled along the picturesque River Ribble, setting an idyllic backdrop for runners to start their adventure. The route winds through Miller Park before crossing over the river into Upper Farm Nature Reserve & Leisure Park. This section offers a mix of tranquil landscapes and diverse terrain, making it both challenging and rewarding for participants. After reaching the turnaround point in the nature reserve, runners will cross back over the River Ribble to return to Avenham Park for the finish line. Registration opens at 9am with race start times scheduled for 10am sharp. The event features a time limit of six hours for all distances covered. Course paths are well-maintained and hard-surfaced, ensuring runners can focus on their pace without worrying about uneven terrain. Participants have several distance options to choose from: the 10K covers one loop plus an additional out-and-back stretch; half marathon enthusiasts will complete three full loops of the course; while marathoners tackle six loops. For those seeking a more substantial challenge, there's also an ultra-distance event that spans seven loops (the final lap must begin within five and a half hours). Aiding runners throughout their journey is a fully stocked aid station offering sweet and savory snacks, water, cordial, and coke to keep energy levels high.
