Phoenix - Hampshire - Summer Feisty Phoenix Day 1

Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Phoenix Running's Hampshire event, 'Summer Feisty Phoenix Day 1', set along the picturesque Itchen Way in Winchester. This professionally measured course offers runners the chance to tackle smooth roads without worrying about muddy trainers. Whether you're aiming for a road marathon or simply looking for an enjoyable run, this scenic route is ideal.
The event features an out-and-back course that traverses the charming Hockley Viaduct and provides stunning views of Winchester's countryside. Participants have up to 7 hours to complete as many laps as they wish, ranging from one lap (2.62 miles) for a fun run, five laps for a half marathon, ten laps for a full marathon, or eleven laps and beyond for an ultra-distance challenge.
No need to commit in advance; runners can adjust their goals based on how they feel during the event. All abilities are welcome—from those completing one lap to endurance athletes pushing past 26 miles—the day is designed with flexibility in mind. Every finisher receives a bespoke, beautifully crafted medal as a testament to their achievement.
The aid station along the route offers an array of sweet and savory treats, including Phoenix's signature potatoes, ensuring runners stay fueled throughout the event. Vegan options are also plentiful for all dietary needs.
Start times are flexible from 08:00 up until 13:00, allowing participants to tailor their experience without feeling rushed or pressured by strict start windows. The course closes at 15:00, giving ample time to complete your chosen distance comfortably.
The event is conveniently located near Garnier Road Car Park in Winchester, with additional parking available just a short walk away at St Catherine's Park & Ride (SO23 9NP). Parking charges apply on Saturdays (£3.50 for the day or £1.80 up to three hours) and are free on Sundays.
