The Bee's Knees Run, hosted by Phoenix Manchester, invites runners of all abilities to lace up their shoes for an unforgettable day along the picturesque River Mersey at Chorlton Water Park. Participants will not only enjoy running on a scenic 3.28-mile out-and-back course but also contribute to a worthy cause as £2 from each entry is donated to Ray's of Sunshine Children’s Charity, championed by Phoenix Running legend Yvonne Meaney. Each finisher receives a handmade knitted bee and the iconic Phoenix medal at the end of their run, celebrating both personal achievement and community spirit. The event offers flexibility with distances ranging from 5km to ultra marathons across multiple laps on a flat and fast route that follows the river’s towpath. Whether you are running for fitness or endurance, this timed event allows participants to set their own pace and distance within a generous seven-hour time frame. Race day begins at Hardy Farm in M21 8FE with registration starting from 7:30 am and runners able to start anytime after 8 am until the last finishers complete by 3:30 pm. The course’s flat terrain makes it ideal for both casual walkers and serious athletes, offering a seamless path along the riverbank. Support on race day includes a well-stocked vegetarian aid station with plenty of vegan options and gluten-free items to cater to all dietary needs. Participants are advised to bring their own food if they have severe allergies due to potential cross-contamination risks at the communal stations. Additional facilities include toilets and changing rooms available at Race HQ, along with parking for up to 75 cars on a first-come-first-served basis or an alternative option just across the river in Sale Water Park, accessible via a short walk. With its scenic setting, community focus, and flexible race format, The Bee's Knees Run promises a memorable experience where every lap completed is celebrated as both a personal victory and a contribution to making a positive difference.

About Manchester
Learn more about the host city, Manchester.
Manchester is a vibrant, post-industrial gem at the heart of North West England. The city that used to be nicknamed 'Cottonopolis' has hung up its clogs and, thanks to successive regeneration projects, is now a major centre for culture and commerce; seen by many as the capital of the north of England, and sometimes regarded as England's second city.
