End your year with a Phoenix run, an exclusive event where you can pick up that coveted medal you've been eyeing. If there's a specific Phoenix medal from past events that caught your attention but slipped through the cracks, reach out to us by December 20th, 2026, and we’ll let you know if it’s still available for booking. On race day, medals will be distributed based on availability. The first 90 registrants will also receive a Phoenix Manchester light weight microfibre towel that dries quickly—perfect to keep in your travel bag or sports kit due to its compact nature and quick-dry properties. This timed event offers flexibility with distances ranging from the scenic 5km loop up to an ultra marathon, all set against the backdrop of Chorlton Water Park along the River Mersey. Participants can choose their distance based on how they feel throughout the day, completing as many or few laps as desired within a 7-hour time limit. The terrain is primarily off-road trail with a flat and fast riverside towpath that follows the picturesque course of the river. Whether you’re an experienced runner looking to push your limits or someone who enjoys leisurely strolls, everyone is welcome to participate at their own pace. A well-stocked vegetarian aid station will be available throughout the event, offering various vegan-friendly snacks such as bananas, dates, jelly sweets, and crisps, along with full sugar cola and squash. Gluten-free options are also provided for those who require them. However, if you have severe allergies that could pose a risk to your health, it’s advisable to bring your own food. The race brief will be sent out one week before the event, which all participants must read carefully. Cheshire Cats Rescue is our chosen charity for this run. Registration opens at 7:30 am with an earliest start time of 8 am and continues until everyone has completed their course by no later than 3:30 pm. Toilets and changing rooms are available near the race headquarters, Hardy Farm (M21 8FE), where parking is also provided on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 75 cars. Additional parking spots can be found at Sale Water Park across the river or in nearby public areas around Chorlton Water Park. Join us and experience the unique blend of scenic beauty and community spirit that makes this event truly unforgettable.

About Manchester
Learn more about the host city, Manchester.
Manchester is a vibrant, post-industrial gem at the heart of North West England. The city that used to be nicknamed 'Cottonopolis' has hung up its clogs and, thanks to successive regeneration projects, is now a major centre for culture and commerce; seen by many as the capital of the north of England, and sometimes regarded as England's second city.
