PHOENIX - South Wales - Pearl Harbour Military Series Run

On December 6, 2026, Phoenix Running South Wales invites you to commemorate one of the most pivotal moments from World War II with their inaugural PEARL HARBOUR Run at Barry Sidings Country Park. This run is part of a series of four themed events honoring significant dates in WWII.
Participants can choose their distance for this flexible event ranging from 5km to an ultra marathon, all on a scenic and historic course along the Taff Trail. The looped route spans 3.28 miles (5.3 km), offering runners breathtaking views as they traverse through Barry Sidings Country Park. Starting near the Barry Sidings Cafe, you'll head down the trail towards Pontypridd before turning back at a designated point and retracing your steps past aid stations, picturesque lakes, and charming cafes.
Each lap features an elevation gain of 50 meters, providing runners with both challenges and stunning vistas as they navigate through this tranquil park. The event offers a unique medal for each completion, but the real highlight comes when all four events are completed, combining into one impressive 320mm wide mural on a flag backdrop.
The race begins at staggered starts from 8:30 am (registration opens at 7:30 am), allowing participants to join whenever they're ready. The event runs for seven hours, giving runners ample time to explore the course and push their limits as much or as little as desired.
