Pleasant Mountain Race

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Maine's Pleasant Mountain for the fourth annual Pleasant Mountain Race on September 27th. This challenging race is designed for runners who thrive on technical single-track trails and breathtaking fall foliage views as you ascend and descend through some of New England’s most iconic terrain.
The event begins at 8:00 am from the East Lodge, located at 305 Mountain Road in Bridgton, ME, with bib pickup available between 6:00 - 7:30 am on race morning. The course features a total elevation gain of over 1900 feet across its twisting and turning trails, including steep climbs up Bald Peak followed by an exhilarating descent down Sue’s Way trail.
Participants will experience the thrill of navigating through dense forests and open ridges, with panoramic views at every turn. The race route highlights include traversing the iconic ridge of Pleasant Mountain and crossing over to Firewarden's Trail before heading back towards Mountain Road for a triumphant finish line celebration.
Safety is paramount, so runners are required to carry essential gear such as water, food, windbreaker or rain shell, space blanket, and headlamp. An aid station equipped with snacks and hydration will be located at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead where you can restock your supplies during the race.
After crossing the finish line, join fellow racers for a lively afterparty featuring delicious fare from local food trucks (including gluten-free options), cold beer courtesy of Norway Brewing Co., and live music to cap off an unforgettable day. Race registration fees range from $70-$80 depending on when you sign up, with early bird discounts available.
