The 2026 Beavercreek Popcorn Festival 5K and Kids Run promises an unforgettable day of running, fun, and community spirit. Set for Saturday, September 12th at Shoup Park, this race is a highlight of the annual festival celebrated in Beavercreek, Ohio. For those aged ten years or younger, there's a special quarter-mile kids run to enjoy alongside their families during the festivities. The main event, the fully timed and managed 5K by Key Sports, offers runners an opportunity to experience scenic routes through Shoup Park while enjoying the warmth of fall in central Ohio. Registration for the race opens immediately with early bird pricing at $25 until September 1st. After this date, participants can still register online up until race day morning at a slightly higher rate of $30. Those who sign up by the guaranteed shirt deadline will receive short sleeve shirts upon arrival; however, if mailing in registrations must ensure they are postmarked no later than August 28th to secure their shirts. Race packets for both participants and spectators can be picked up on race day starting at 7:15 am. The kids run commences promptly at 8:30 am followed by the start of the 5K at 9:00 am, ensuring a full morning filled with excitement before transitioning into the festival atmosphere. Post-race activities include enjoying all that the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival has to offer, including live entertainment, local vendors selling popcorn and other treats, games for children, and more. Results will be displayed in real-time on Key Sports' dedicated website as runners cross the finish line. Awards ceremonies are scheduled at 10 am on the main festival stage where top three overall male and female winners receive trophies while age group medals go to the first three finishers across each division from nine years old up through eighty and beyond. Should any recipient be unable to attend, awards can also be collected at designated information booths during specific hours over the weekend. Parking is readily available in nearby neighborhoods and lots close to Shoup Park for convenient access on race day. In case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances that might jeopardize participant safety, organizers reserve the right to reschedule or convert this event into a virtual run with no refunds issued under any conditions. For those who opt out before August 12th, transfer options are available. Join us in Beavercreek for an afternoon filled with running and celebration at one of Ohio's most beloved autumn events!
