Dive into the sixth edition of the Portland Pig BackYard Ultra, an exhilarating ultramarathon experience that challenges runners with its unique format and stunning scenery. This Bronze Ticket event invites participants to run 6,706 meters (4.167 miles) every hour until only one runner remains standing. The course winds through a diverse landscape filled with historical landmarks and natural beauty. Runners will pass by two prisons, an Olympic Rings monument, a cricket club, stone quarries adorned with intricate carvings, the Olympic sailing venue, breathtaking beach views, a wallaby farm, alpacas, Portland Sheep, and high-angle batteries from 1892. The terrain is varied, offering grass, gravel paths, tracks, tarmac, and pavement. Each lap becomes familiar as you repeatedly tackle this challenging route over multiple hours. Camp on-site with your crew during the event; camping facilities are included in your entry fee for up to two people (motorhomes only). A fully marked course ensures that runners stay oriented throughout their journey. The race is equipped with full chip timing, medical support, and an enthusiastic team of marshals who provide encouragement along the way. For those who don't complete the event but try their best, a stunning DNF medal awaits. The winner will receive a bespoke memento hand-carved from Portland stone—a unique prize for this year's champion. Whether you're aiming to finish 7 laps (marathon distance), take on 24 loops (100 miles), or push yourself through an incredible 48 yards (200 miles), the race offers something remarkable. Each loop brings new challenges and rewards, from the camaraderie of fellow runners to breathtaking views at every turn. The event takes place at Grove Farm Estate in Portland, Dorset, DT5 1GD. All participants must be self-sufficient with food and water during their run, as there are no outside assistance or running/walking poles allowed on course. Camping is non-hook up pitches only, and hot and cold water will be available. Previous winners include Luke Carter (29 yards in 2022), Andy Imms (39 yards in 2024), and Phil Marshall (46 yards in 2026). Join us to see if you have what it takes to conquer the Portland Pig BackYard Ultra.
