The Ripon Stinger, returning on Saturday, 11 April 2026, is a demanding multi-distance trail race that offers three classic options: a challenging Half Marathon (14.2 mi), a hilly 20 Mile race, and a full Ultramarathon (35.1 mi) starting from Studley Roger near Ripon. Each route weaves through beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, with the ultra distance qualifying for 2 ITRA points and a UTMB Q50K index, attracting a serious field. Known for its friendly, community-focused organization and strict safety ethos (including mandatory GPS trackers for the ultra), the event provides fully stocked checkpoints, hot homemade food at the finish, and a fantastic atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned ultra runner or stepping up to your first longer trail race, the Ripon Stinger delivers a tough but immensely rewarding early-season test in some of England's most stunning landscapes.
