Experience the thrill of running under the stars at the Q50 Races Chupacabra, an unforgettable night trail race returning for its 16th year on Friday, November 6, 2026. Participants can choose between a 5-mile and a 10-mile route, both starting at midnight in Bogue Chitto State Park. The event takes place within the serene confines of Bogue Chitto State Park, located at 17049 State Park Blvd, Franklinton, LA 70438. The park's natural beauty provides an enchanting backdrop for this unique running experience. Registration opens from 10:15pm to 11:45pm, followed by course instructions at 11:45pm, and the race kicks off promptly at midnight. For runners tackling the longer distance, the route consists of two loops totaling 10 miles with a water/food station available at the finish line. The shorter option offers one loop of 5 miles without any intermediate stations. Both courses are designed to challenge participants while showcasing the park's diverse terrain and stunning night scenery. Safety is paramount during this event. Runners must bring essential items such as headlamps or flashlights, extra batteries, prescription glasses if needed, and a hydration container for the race. The organizers encourage runners to follow common sense hygiene practices and prioritize their health and safety throughout the evening. Upon completion of your run, you'll be greeted with handmade medals and awards at the finish line. Additionally, participants will enjoy food provided by the New Orleans Mission, adding another layer of community spirit to this already special event. Don't miss out on what promises to be an extraordinary night filled with adventure and camaraderie.
