Quiet Corner Bike Tour - Presented by the Thread City Cyclers
About the Event
Explore the quiet beauty of Eastern Connecticut on the 2026 Quiet Corner Bike Tour, presented by The Thread City Cyclers. This fully supported ride offers multiple routes that take you through picturesque country roads and charming small towns. The century route will once again traverse Devil's Hopyard State Park’s scenic turns before continuing north to uncover more of the area’s hidden gems, culminating in a sweet treat at Wi-Li-Kit Ice Cream Stand. For those seeking shorter adventures, there are 64-mile, 40-mile, and 20-mile routes available, each offering rest stops with plenty of refreshments including water, sports drinks, snacks, home-baked treats, fruits, and more. For a unique gravel experience, two new loops have been added this year: the 18-mile loop which shares some of its route with the Air Line Trail, and the popular 34-mile loop. Each rest stop is equipped with portable chemical toilets to ensure comfort during your ride. The event begins at Edward Garrison Park in Chaplin CT (located at 495 Phoenixville Road), a scenic starting point that will host all rides until their conclusion. The 100-mile century ride kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by the 34-mile gravel loop at 8:30 AM and the 64-mile route at 8:45 AM. The 40-mile and 20-mile routes start together at 9:00 AM. Participants can expect a variety of food options along their journey, from packaged snacks to home-baked goodies, fruits, water, and sports drinks. At the park’s finish line, you’ll find fresh sandwiches, salads, chips, and more. On-call transport is available for those who need assistance getting back to the start/finish area. New members can join The Thread City Cyclers at a discounted rate of $15 off their annual membership price of $30 by registering before July 12th. Online registration is limited to 200 participants, so secure your spot early! For those who prefer not to plan ahead, on-site registration and check-in open from 7:00 AM, with century riders starting between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. All other rides commence between 8:00 and 9:00 AM.
