Join MS Events & Precision Race as we host the Raleigh Turkey Trot, set to take place on November 26, 2026, at Ridgewood Center located at Wade Avenue and Ridge Road in Raleigh. This annual run is not just a race but an opportunity to support vital causes through fundraising efforts for the National MS Society and ALS United. Volunteers play a crucial role in making this event successful and enjoyable for all participants. Whether you're looking to earn fundraising credit towards upcoming Bike MS or Walk MS events, or simply want to give back to your community, there are several volunteer positions available. Roles range from advanced check-in assistants who help runners prepare before the big day to race-day volunteers ensuring a smooth experience. Advanced Check-In Assistants will be needed on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22, between 11:30 AM and 4 PM at a location yet to be determined. These volunteers assist with race check-in procedures and distribute race shirts to participants who have pre-registered for the event. Race Day Check-In Assistants are also essential on Thanksgiving morning from 6:45 to 8:30 AM, helping runners finalize their preparations just before they hit the starting line. Volunteers will be stationed at Ridgewood Center to manage last-minute logistics and distribute race shirts if not already picked up. Water station volunteers ensure that participants stay hydrated throughout their run by filling water cups and handing them out from 7:30 AM until around 9:45 AM, when the event concludes. Finish line food/drink volunteers will also be needed to resupply water bottles and individually wrapped snacks in the post-race area. One of the most rewarding roles is that of Course Monitor (age 18+ required), who must ensure race safety by positioning at specific intersections along the route from 7:15 AM until all runners have passed. These volunteers will be provided with safety vests, which they are required to wear during their shift. In recognition of this critical role, course monitors receive a significant fundraising credit of $175. All other volunteer roles offer credits ranging between $75 and $100, providing an excellent opportunity for participants in Bike MS or Walk MS events to earn additional funds towards their goals while contributing positively to the community. The Raleigh Turkey Trot promises not only scenic routes through the heart of Raleigh but also a warm atmosphere filled with camaraderie among runners, volunteers, and spectators alike.
