Race number 4 & 5 in the Montana Nordic Cup! Held at Pattee Canyon Recreation Area Wax recommendations will be emailed the week of the race and on site waxing will be available for free (Thanks to the Ice Badgers Coaches).
Parking can be tight at Pattee Canyon, please park along the road on the right hand side for overflow parking and be nice! :)
Randy Beckner is a legend in the Montana Endurance Sports Scene. He was a high level biker, triathlete, and Nordic skier. Later he worked for MTCX as the head wax technician. He taught MTCX about Montana Winters. We hold this event in his memory. He loved Pattee Canyon, he loved the Ice Badgers, and he loved coaching and watching skiing.
The 1k course will use 3 laps on the lower ZANY area of Pattee. The 5km course will be two laps and utilize the meadow and lower picnic loop. The 10km course will be 4 laps on same circuit. For the Skiathlon, we'll utilize the same courses. Ski transitions will happen in the ZANY Field at Pattee Canyon, you must switch equipment at the transition.
Post race is a chili feed potluck. "We'll provide the chili, you provide the cornbread". All racers receive a prize (even adults!).
