About the Event

This New Year event is based at the Miyoshi Park athletics stadium and the roads around Miyoshi Pond. It includes jogging and marathon categories of 1.6 km and a six-person ekiden with legs of 3.8 km, 1.3 km, 3.8 km, 1.3 km, 3.8 km and 1.6 km. Each ekiden team must include at least two women, though in one division a man aged 50 or over can substitute, and the district-competition category forms teams by administrative district within the city. Starts are staggered to avoid contact, with two divisions going off at a time, around 10:25 and 10:30.
