The Remembrance Run invites runners of all levels to participate in an unforgettable 6-hour timed challenge. Held along the picturesque old railway line, this unique course offers both newcomers and seasoned athletes the opportunity to run anywhere from a 5k up to ultra marathon distances within the event's time frame. Registration opens at 8:45am for the start of the race at 9:30am sharp. Each lap covers 3.28 miles, with key turn points set after the first and second laps marking the 5k and 10k marks respectively. A half marathon distance is reached by completing four full laps, while a full marathon requires eight consecutive circuits around this scenic path. The course itself features an out-and-back layout that minimizes navigation challenges, making it ideal for runners looking to push their limits without worrying about getting lost. The majority of the route follows a smooth tarmac surface, with only brief sections on grass at both ends of each lap near the starting and finishing areas. Support stations are conveniently placed along the way, providing water, squash, fizzy drinks, and an assortment of snacks for participants to refuel during their run. Runners have until 5:59pm to start their final lap, ensuring ample time to complete even ultra distances within the event's constraints. For those needing a break or rest facilities, toilets are located at the pavilion on Skellingthorpe’s playing field. The community center also offers free parking for participants and spectators alike. Upon crossing the finish line, all runners will receive a specially designed Remembrance-themed medal along with a goody bag filled with surprises to commemorate their achievement.
