About the Event

The Remutaka Rail Trail Run & Walk invites participants to explore the scenic beauty of Wellington's Remutaka Ranges on November 7, 2026. This historic route offers a mix of stunning bush-clad valleys and gentle gradients, culminating in views from near the summit at an elevation of 254 meters above sea level. The trail features picturesque river vistas, charming tunnels, and rustic bridges that add character to this memorable journey.
Participants can choose between three distances: a challenging 21km run/walk, a moderate 14km option, or a family-friendly 7km route. All courses are primarily on hard-packed gravel tracks, making them accessible for any modestly fit individual. Water stations will be available throughout the course to keep runners hydrated.
The event also includes an additional highlight: a coffee cart near the Kart Club clubroom where participants can enjoy hot drinks and snacks after their run. However, please note that EFTPOS services won't be available, so bring cash for any purchases you plan to make along the route.
This annual fundraiser supports Trentham United Harrier and Walkers Club, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2018. The club is dedicated to promoting fitness and well-being across all age groups within the Upper Hutt Valley community. Join us for an invigorating morning of exercise and scenic exploration on this remarkable trail.
