Organized by Ripon Runners, this 35-mile ultra-distance race offers runners an unforgettable challenge through the picturesque landscapes of North Yorkshire. The circular route begins and concludes at Studley Roger village hall, winding its way along the northern section of the historic Ripon Rowel. The course showcases a diverse array of terrain, including woodland trails, moorland expanses, and scenic paths within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Runners will encounter undulating hills and varied elevations throughout their journey, testing both endurance and resilience. The race culminates in an exhilarating downhill run through Studley Royal deer park before returning to the charming village. The event adheres strictly to UK Athletics rules and regulations, ensuring a safe and fair competition for all participants. Race headquarters at Studley Roger Village Hall provide essential amenities such as refreshments, hot food, and toilet facilities throughout the day. Four well-stocked checkpoints manned by enthusiastic volunteers are strategically placed along the route, offering water, snacks, sweets, and cake to sustain runners on their long-distance trek. A time limit of 10 hours applies for completion, with cut-off times enforced at each checkpoint to maintain safety standards. Participants must carry essential equipment such as a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, emergency food supplies, extra water, an emergency blanket, and the race route map or description. Mobile phones are required with full battery life, but paper cups will not be provided for environmental reasons. All finishers receive a commemorative T-shirt to celebrate their achievement. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female runners as well as age category winners. A team trophy is also presented to the relay squad of five runners from the same club with at least one woman, boasting the lowest cumulative time across all members. Relay teams can look forward to a special prize for the fastest overall performance. The event promises an immersive experience in natural beauty and camaraderie among fellow athletes. Join us for this inspiring race that celebrates both personal triumphs and collective spirit amidst Yorkshire's stunning countryside.

About North Yorkshire
Learn more about the host city, North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire is a county in Yorkshire in northern England. Yorkshire was a huge county, the largest in England, so it was traditionally divided into three "ridings" which were later re-organised into four counties. So North Yorkshire is about half the area of Yorkshire, yet still the largest present-day county.
