Rise Sasquatch Shuffle

About the Event

Set against the rugged beauty of Mission Tejas State Park, the Sasquatch Shuffle offers runners an unforgettable trail experience on May 1st. Nestled along State Highway 21 East near Grapeland, Texas, this race welcomes up to 500 participants for a day filled with challenging terrain and scenic views.
The course weaves through diverse trails featuring straw pine laces single track, winding downhills, and CCC-built rock stairs that add an element of excitement. The elevation changes are significant; runners will face climbs while heading toward the park's front and descents on their return path. With multiple loops designed for various distances—100k (6:00 am start), 50K (7:00 am start), 30k (7:30 am start), 10k (8:00 am start), and a 5k race at 8:30 am—the event caters to both seasoned ultrarunners and casual runners alike.
Participants can enjoy free camping on-site for Friday and Saturday night, allowing them ample time to acclimate before the big day. Packet pickup is available from noon until 7 pm on April 30th, or between 5:00 am and 9:00 am on race morning at the start/finish area.
The race features full aid stations along each loop, ensuring runners have access to necessary supplies throughout their journey. Additionally, every participant will receive a custom medal upon completion of their chosen distance, as well as complimentary photos from the event. The volunteer support is exceptional, adding to the overall positive atmosphere and making sure that all needs are met during this challenging yet rewarding race.
With cutoff times in place—2:00 am for all races with no exceptions after 11:45 pm—the Sasquatch Shuffle encourages runners to pace themselves wisely while enjoying the unique trails of Mission Tejas State Park. For more information, visit .
