Temperatures hover between 0°C to 8°C, creating a delightful chill that makes for ideal early December running conditions in Virginia.
The course winds its way through Riverbend Park’s well-maintained pathways, featuring gentle inclines and varied terrain. Notable highlights include scenic views from the park's highest points and strategically placed water stations along the route. Participants will start their journey at 8:00 AM sharp in the parking lot of Riverbend Park, located on Main Street near the historic downtown area.
The finish line is equally picturesque, framed by cheering volunteers and supporters who celebrate each runner’s achievement. The race caters to both seasoned runners and newcomers with two classic distances—10 kilometers and 5 kilometers—and virtual options that include or exclude medals. Registration fees vary: $49.64 for the 10K, $33.63 for the 5K, $20.82 for a virtual race with medal, and just $12.28 for those opting out of a medal.
Early registration is encouraged to secure your spot; it closes on November 30th at midnight. Pick up bib numbers from Great Falls High School gymnasium between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on December 4th, ensuring you bring government-issued ID and proof of payment for a smooth process.
For those under 12 years old or first-time participants, the event welcomes all with open arms. Riverbend Park’s rich history and supportive community atmosphere make this race not just an athletic challenge but also a celebration of local heritage.
