Rose of the Shires Ultra

Discover the beauty of Northamptonshire through an epic 54-mile trail race, celebrated for its picturesque circular route that winds through the heart of the county. This fully supported and interactive event offers runners a chance to explore diverse landscapes, from vibrant villages to serene forests and tranquil canals.
The course is meticulously designed with simplicity in mind, featuring a single-loop track that makes navigation straightforward while allowing participants to immerse themselves in the stunning scenery. As you embark on this journey, expect to pass through two enchanting country parks, Salcey Forest, and sections of the Grand Union Canal. The route also follows parts of well-known trails like the Nene Way, Midshires Way, and Northampton Round.
Throughout your run, anticipate six strategically placed checkpoints every 6 to 8 miles, providing essential support and rest opportunities. These points are vital for tracking progress and ensuring safety along the way.
This event is a qualifying race for UTMB, adding an extra layer of prestige for those aiming to qualify for this renowned international competition. For participants who opt for shuttle bus transportation from registration to the start line, please make sure to purchase the add-on ticket in advance. If you choose not to use the shuttle service, it's assumed that you will arrange your own travel.
