Join us for the exhilarating 15th Annual Round the Bay Relay and Ultra on Florida's stunning Emerald Coast, where runners will experience breathtaking scenery and vibrant communities along Northwest Florida’s shoreline. The race kicks off at Okaloosa Island's Elks Lodge in Fort Walton Beach before winding through picturesque towns like Destin, Niceville, Valparaiso, Shalimar, and back to the starting point. This year marks a significant milestone for ULTRA runners as major course improvements have been implemented to ensure an exceptional race experience. The relay typically attracts around 40 teams (more than 300 participants) who are greeted with enthusiastic fan support throughout their journey. Key highlights include fully stocked aid stations at Hurricanes Grill/Bar, Tropical Smoothie in Niceville, and Shalimar, providing runners with water, pretzels, candy, bag drop services, and basic medical supplies. Participants will also receive exclusive swag such as a special long-sleeve race shirt (available to the first 50 registrants) and a unique finisher's growler. The post-race celebration features an excellent buffet spread, refreshing beverages, live music, and plenty of camaraderie among runners and spectators alike. The official start times are set for 4:00 AM, 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, and 6:30 AM. Runners should aim to complete the course by 12:45 PM with a finish line closing time of 12:55 PM. Official race results will be sent to Ultra Signup (Bill Carr) for all competitors. For added convenience, special discounted hotel rates are available at The Island Resort, located just steps from both the start and finish lines. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, December 26th, between 4:00-7:00 PM at this venue. To round out your race weekend experience, a free Bloody Mary Beach Recovery Run (or choose any distance you prefer) will take place on Sunday, December 28th, starting at The Island Resort at 9:00 AM. This event offers the perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy the serene beauty of Florida’s beaches. Brace yourself for an unforgettable adventure along Northwest Florida's scenic coastlines as you connect with fellow runners in a spirit-filled environment that celebrates endurance and community.
